With a large box of mixed summer berries in the freezer and a tub of creme fraiche to use up, I just had to succumb to creating a pudding, not that I really need an excuse to bake.
I decided upon Nigella Lawson’s Blackberry Galette (except I used my mixed berries, instead of just blackberries). Why? Because after looking out at the dappled golden sunshine and clear blue sky, I decided that a fruity galette would be the perfect dessert, the recipe for which can be found here.
The pastry is buttery, light, flaky and melts in your mouth, and the combination of the fresh sweetness from the berries and the creamy tang from the creme fraiche is just so good.
A deliciously memorable experience!

Laura I’m sure you’d enjoy it. Any combination of berries seems to work well and apples would be gorgeous too I think.
