In response to Lydia’s post over on The Perfect Pantry, I decided to take up the challenge and show you all what I love about my kitchen storage areas.
When we had the kitchen refurbished I was desperate to have all my spice tins to hand and on show. So I designed this unit, I love, love, love it. I currently have over 50 spices and blends so it wonderful to see them all at a glance, I do however know where approximately they all are so I don’t have to glance for too long
I also use the unit as an area to display small holiday mementos and gifts from friends such as the small Malaga dish (bought for 1 Euro in a Nerja thrift store) and the little teapot (a wonderful gift from a foodie friend of mine, Edda).

Originally the pantry wasn’t part of the kitchen plan, but as my culinary adventures continued at such a rapid rate I was eager for more space, hence the extension of the kitchen to give a small pantry area (from where I also do all my writing). It was a long and fraught event what with cowboy builders and all but eventually we got it done. I don’t know how I managed without it. The downside? Well that’s obvious, I keep filling it up and running out of space, but I guess no matter how big the pantry I’d find a way to fill it up.

I am inspired by your pantry. We are almost done with our renovations and I can’t wait to set up my pantry. Where did you get your tins I love the colors and shape of them. So much fun, I would like to have an afternoon peaking through it all to see what you have.

I agree with Bridgett- it is indeed like a toy store for adults!! I love how your pantry looks, especially your spice containers… I so wish I had a pantry too, for now I’m making do with a small kitchen, but hopefully we’ll move soon & one of the things I’d really like is a relatively large kitchen, ideally with a pantry
Love your blog, by the way.
